Introduction

The fishery research boat constructed with mild steel hull with long forecastle and aluminum deckhouse is 26.0 meters in length, 8.0 meters in breadth and runs at a maximum speed of 12 knots driven by one (1) Caterpillar 3512B diesel engines with controllable pitch propeller, the engine power is 1280Ps. It can carry 60 tonnes cargo stored at aft deck area and fish holds for offshore fishery research purpose. The service area is Kuwait sea waters.

The hull form is designed to prevent hull mounted transducers from turbulence and bubbles motion in order not to produce unacceptable loss in equipment and personnel efficiency.

All the design and construction are complied with rules and requirements of American Bureau of Shipping and registered with notation ABS, +A1, +AMS

The Vessel is fitted with facilities including laboratory for shrimp / fish stern trawling, fishery survey, biological, geological and geophysical oceanography studies (seawater sedimentation studies, pollution and coastal studies in tropical waters).

All spaces and compartments are designed to be air-conditioned except main machinery Spaces. Cabins are designed to accommodate 8 crews and 8 scientists.

The Vessel is finished and delivered to Kuwait in March 2006 and joined the fishery research service.

All the design, construction, equipment including lifesaving and fire fighting of the vessel are complied with rules and regulations of American Bureau of Shipping Classification Society. The major navigation facility includes Radar, ECDIS, Echo Sounder, GPS, EPIRB, Siren and VHF.
